The Rustic Gallery, also known as "Hacienda & Country Interiors", introduced itself to the American trade as wholesalers in 1998 after two years of intensive research for the best manufacturers of Hacienda, Country, Western and Spanish style furniture in Mexico by its owners and co- founders, Ricardo and Elisabeth Vazquez.
Ricardo, known as " Ricky", was born in Laredo, Texas and has been in the Import/Export business for 20 years before opening The Rustic Gallery with his wife Elisabeth, a former travel agent, born and raised in Paris, France.
Following the demand of the general public, The Rustic Gallery opened its first retail location in 1999, in San Antonio, Texas.

The Rustic Gallery was featured on The Oprah Winfrey show during Eva Longoria's "Desperate House" Makeover, February 06, 2006. Nate Berkus, the famous interior decorator for Oprah, chose The Rustic Gallery, above all other furniture stores in San Antonio, to provide him with an Old Rustic Doors Bench, a Worm Wood Mirror, a Pine with Mesquite in-lay Sofa table as well as Kilim Rugs Pillows and Assorted accessories.
